Grove City Police Support HOPELINE® Program
Recycling a used cell phone could provide a lifeline for a victim of domestic violence or abuse. The Grove City Division of Police is working with Verizon Wireless to coordinate a used cell phone collection drive. This drive supports Verizon’s HOPELINE®program by providing refurbished wireless phones to domestic violence organizations.
This program also supports survivors of domestic violence by recycling and refurbishing donated batteries and accessories in any condition, from any carrier, for reuse.
Although men experience domestic violence, research shows the majority of the victims are women. Around the world, at least 1 in 4 women has experienced some form of violence or abuse during her lifetime, and studies show some 10 million children witness domestic violence each year.
These donations will be distributed, with limited service, to victims to call for assistance to shelters and nationwide domestic violence prevention awareness programs.
Collection boxes will be located now through mid-July at:
- Grove City Division of Police Safety Complex, 3360 Park Street
- City Hall, 4035 Broadway
- Grove City Branch of the Southwest Public Library, 3359 Park Street
- Grove City United Methodist Church, 2684 Columbus Street
- Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this collection. We can make a difference. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Quin C. Wells, Grove City Division of Police, at 614-277-1718.
